MATTHEW J. (Matt) WITTWER

Matt has only recently joined the Carter Electrical Company team, having come to work in 2005 in the capacity of Estimator and Project Manager. However, his career began some twenty years ago.
Matt started in the electrical industry in 1985 as an apprentice while still attending high school in Charlotte, NC. After graduating from High School he continued working in the trade and began to run work as a Field Superintendent and later earned his Journeymen license in Charlotte Mecklenburg County. He continued his education and in 1989 earned his North Carolina State Unlimited Contractors license and continued working in the industry and went on to work as a Project Manager, and later owned his own company.
In 1995 an opportunity presented itself and Matt found himself working in Tampa, Florida as a project manager on several large projects. Matt had intended to return to North Carolina upon completion of those projects, however another opportunity arose in 1996 and he moved to Daytona Beach to join a company and later became the company’s Vice President and partner in that business where he worked for almost ten years. In 2000 Matt earned his State Electrical Contractors license in the State of Florida.
His dedication to the trade has been shown by having taught electrical apprenticeship school for the Associated Building and Contractors and has also taught project management classes on a national level. Matt has served on various apprenticeship committees as well as several Boards of Directors for both local and National organizations.
